One of the sicilian wineries who produces Nero d'Avola says about this wine: 'attentive and sensible towards the balance of wine, culture and tradition'. Very noble aspirations, but i'd say: 'forget the culture and drink the wine'. One of my favourite Italian reds - intense ruby colour. Great intensity of concentrated cherry and damson fruits with a spicy overlay and excellent firm tannins giving a wine of elegant structure. The fruit has a supple sweetness and distinct character with a spicy, lasting finish. you can drink as soon as you buy it, or keep it for a couple of years Matches perfectly with red meat, lamb, game and hard cheese.
