I'm not a fan of garlic powder, so here is a quite accurate conversion to fresh garlic cloves.
One leveled teaspoon of garlic powder can be subtistuted with one medium garlic clove.
Half teaspoon of crushed garlic from a jar, can be substituted with one medium garlic clove.
If you can, use fresh.

| iv had my disasters with garlic powder and the jarred stuff too, i find the crushed garlic in a jar very vinegary with not much garlic flavor. fresh is definately better, you dont get the powdery taste that you get if you use powdered garlic in, for example, turkey burgers etc. |
