The white wine Trebbiano d'Abruzzo is made in the southern region of Abruzzo, in compliance with the DOC (Denominazione d'Origine Controllata ) regulations governing wine making.
It's probably one of the anciest wines in Italy as it was mentioned by Plinius during the roman empire.
The main characteristic of this wine is its golden color derived from the grape of the same name, Trebbiano d'Abruzzo is distinguished by a delicate bouquet that reminds of ripe fruits.
This white wine is first fermented and then left to rest in stainless steel vats indicating that there is no need to add more flavors and aromas.
Only a small production of the most sofisticate "riserva" is aged in wooden barrels.
The soft aromatic notes of Trebbiano d'Abruzzo match perfectly with antipasti, pasta with light tomato sauces, seafood, grilled fish both fresh and saltwater. It's also a perfect match with cheese, specially with
scamorza, or caciocavallo, even in the "smoked" version.
Serve chilled, 8°- 10°C (46° - 50° F)
This wine should be drunk within the year.
Buon Appetito!
