Starbucks replied to my letter of complaint saying that due to the fact that their mugs are produced in large quantities, that particular mug obviously wasn't finished properly. I have been in Starbucks since, and had the same problem! Now, what is the chance of me receiving the same mug twice??? As a test, please could some of our other members check out the Starbucks in their areas, and see if there appears to be a big lump on the inside of your mug. I noticed it straight away when i stirred my drink, so you should too. If you do notice this, it is obvoius evidence that Starbucks are intentionally ripping people off - can you tell that this has really annoyed me??!
Please let me know if you find this too. |

Paula, the chances of getting the same mug twice is very slim.
I checked Starbucks website and checked their menu:
http://www.starbucks.com/retail/nutrition_beverage_detail.asp
In the picture they showed paper cups, but a short coffee is 8 oz, which is standard size. If their cups are manufactured with a bumb on the bottom, then the container part of the cup must still measure 8 oz when filled to within 3/4 inch of the top.
I don't know what a normal size mug is over there, and what the laws are concerning measures. Guido says that in Italy, wine carafe's and beer mugs are marked with lines indicating the measure. Since everyone drinks only espresso, it is a standard 7 grams coffee and the machines dispense water according to customer's specification (short, long, very long espresso). Cappuccino's are the same and the customer tells the barista how much milk and foam they want.
So, hey Starbucks's, you have some explaining to do! _________________ Life's short...eat dessert first. |
