I can't grow my own cow -darn zoning laws! - I have some steak issues. After reading Omnivore's Dilemma, I'm committed to only feeding my family grass fed steak but the issue is of their authencity.I don’t want my family to suffer because of the diseases associated with grain fed ones but neither do I would like to pay for crap…Please can anyone tell me a good producer or seller of grass fed steak that I can trust upon for the quality of grass-fed. |

Here in England, we have organic cows or regular cows and it says which on the packet. I've never heard of grass fed cows or corn fed cows - a very novel idea really!! |

| It’s a good thing that you are turning to grass-fed rather then the other ones. Its a great way to minimize the risk of mad cow disease and ensure the best health for our family. I too prefer grass fed steaks for my family and I am pleased to tell you that you can go about it without any doubt. I don’t know the exact place of your location but I get my grass-fed steaks from a place where I have not had any complaints or issues in a couple of months. They have a wide range of network and I hope they can reach you. Their steak is of good quality and can be trusted as far as I am concerned and the taste is as good as it can get. |

Funny!
The 1st time I saw this post and an indian IP I thought of a April fool joke.
Now I see a reply with different nickname but still from India and from same ISP....
I guess Steakburger.com outsourced their link campaign..... _________________ In vino veritas! |

Paula, years ago all cows here were field raised, allowed to graze on fresh grass and fed corn and other grain. It makes a world of difference in the taste and tenderness of the meat. _________________ Life's short...eat dessert first. |

Paula, in a previous post you said you had never heard of grass or corn fed cows.
Beef cattle are fed hormone's and antibiotics, and manufactured feed that can contain meat products from slaughtered cows. Thats how Mad Cow disease started I think. These cattle are raised on a farm and then shipped to the slaughter house.
Naturally raised beef is allowed to grow at the natural rate and feed on corn and green pasture grass, They receive no unnatural additives to their . _________________ Life's short...eat dessert first. |

I can see how I didn't make sense there!! Because cows are cows here, and it's either organic beef or beef, you never hear of Grass Fed or Corn Fed cows - just organic or regular. I didn't know they were fed different things. I definitely didn't know they were fed other cows, that's just gross!!
Does that mean the cheaper the beef you buy, the more likely it is to have been fed something awful? Although I live in a city, there are plenty of farms around, and all of them have the cows grazing in the fields. Where Keri's old childminder lives, theres a farm behind her house and all of the animals are in fields eating grass. Also when we went camping last year, the campsite was a beef farm as well, and the field next to us had cows in grazing on the grass
I like the idea of cows living in a mad house |
