It's not going to be easy or cheap for sure. Hopefully further testing will give you more concrete information. Keep a diary on what Keri eats and note any reactions. Providing healthy food is going to be a challenge.

I found an article about citric acid here:

http://ezinearticles.com/?Citric-Acid-Allergy?&id=3700586

In it, there's a link to this website:

http://citric-acid-allergy.ht-ml.org/

The article states that in 2007, 3.4 BILLION pounds of citric acid was made, half of which was put into food.

I use Hydrocortizone cream whenever I have an outbreak on my skin, mostly around face. It helps, but it's not a cure, nor does it help with my blurred vision and intestinal cramps (kind of a horrible twitching).

There used to be a list of foods that contained citric acid on the Australian/New Zealand Government's website, but I don't know if it's still there: http://www.foodstandards.gov.au/. I typed "citric acid" into the search box and found it by going through a long list. Embarassed

sorry i didnt reply to this, i havent posted on here in ages! Keri has a little bit of her allergy still, if she eats a lot of tomato based product she still gets her rash, or cheap orange squash (i know you dont get that in the states, its kinda like kool aid but liquid in a bottle rather than powder) gives it to her too, but i give up now and just et her eat normally. the doctor gave her hydrocortozine cream which works well and gets rid of the rash over night. it was scary when she used my shampoo though, it was made with orange flower and made her eyes swell up!! ever since, iv made sure her shampoo bottle is always full!

It sounds like Keri's reaction to citric acid is lessening, and she may well outgrow it altogether.
