That could be because they are not really light weight.
But I'm with you: It's a rip off.

That is crazy but as Guido said, they are a bit heavy. Here I pick them up in the picnic /paper plates etc aisle for about 99 cents for a small one. That and having all Erica's food cold and maybe a frozen drink keeps everything cold and safe from spoilage. Sometimes Erica doesn't eat all her lunch and food she brings home is still cold.

Glad you found something Keri will like. Going to school for the first time is a big event!

i cant wait!! i have freezer packs that are bigger but too heavy and bulky to send in a school lunch. they are really cheap here - about 50p for 3. i use them for when we go camping or on picnics. iv sked her if she wants pasta meals when her thermos arrives and she's really excited!! keeps asking if she can take past for lunch at the childminders!!!!

an idea i came up with for Keri's hot lunch for today at the childminder's was - we had takeaway pizza last night with southern fried chicken strips as one of the starters. We didn't finish it all (as usual!!) and so I chopped up the left over cold chicken, and added it to hot pasta in her thermos. I then packed her a yogurt pouch, a dairylea tri-bite (hard cheese triangle that I think tastes like plastic!), some grapes and a snack sized sausage roll into her lunch bag with a drink, and used tiny freezer packs to keep it cool Smile Hopefully the cool of the bag wont affect the temperature inside the thermos which is keeping the pasta warm.
