|
|
We're kinda strapped this Christmas and I need to come up with some cheap gifts for my staff and boss. I was thinking of making some gift baskets. How does this combination of goodies sound?
Hot Cocoa Mix
Chocolate Mint Dipped spoons
Cute coffee mug (from the dollar store)
Chocolate covered pretzels
Chocolate Nut Crunch (recipe from here)
Christmas ornament (I was thinking the Cinnamon Apple ones from here sounded, er smelled, great)
Wrap it all up in a cute basket.
Other cheap and easy recipes are greatly appreciated!

Hey Ladybug, ltns!
I think your idea sounds wonderful! I love making gift baskets and it really is a gift from the heart. Handmade coupons are great also, like a coupon for a home made casserole, or a ten minute back rub/scratch. I will post my home made cocoa mix recipe. The peppermint bark is really easy and cheap to make also. The cinnamon apple ornaments are a nice touch ties onto the basket with a ribbon.
Some other great gift basket goodies,
Cheese Straws, submitted by paulamathers.
My glazed nuts, these are crazy easy, chex party mix, Guido's spicy parmesan balls. Have fun! _________________ A closed mouth gathers no feet. |

Cranara jam is quite cheap to make and very festive looking, pecan jam also because you can make it with other nuts too. My sister's making hampers for our family this year so i'll ask her to post some ideas as well. _________________ Rain rain go away, come again another day |

Also, what about festively decorated sugar cookies in a little home-made box or gingerbread men. Parkin is quite cheap to make (see my submitted recipe) and has a gingerbread taste so would also be good for this time of year. Wrap in red or green cellophane with a red/green ribbon & bow for a lovely gift. _________________ Rain rain go away, come again another day |

Most drink mixes are relatively cheap to make, you can get different kinds of teas, cappuccino mixes etc. I'll see if i can dig out some recipes for dry drink mixes and post them for you, i have a few somewhere that i've made in the past an always turn out well and look pretty. _________________ Rain rain go away, come again another day |

Thanks for the new recipes. I'm going to make a trip to the market tomorrow to get my supplies. I'll have to go to town to get bulk ground cinnamon.
