Try my honey garlic shrimp recipe, or shrimp scampi since you love garlic. What you call prawns we call jumpo shrimp here and they are the same thing.

Iv learnt now that; Ruttebager = Swede and Shrimps = Prawns. Woohoo! Ruttebagers a weird name for a vegetable! We call it swede because it originated in Sweeden and us English people get confused easily i think!

Yes we are having food name lessons lol. Years ago when I first discovered Maeve Binchy novels, I had a co worker from Manchester, England. One morning when I got to work I made Jenny crack up with my list of food questions, what was a sausage roll etc etc. We began having daily lessons. It was fun. I miss Jenny, she was a character. But she and her husband moved to Hawaii Crying or Very sad

I have a friend studying in Hawaii! Not sure which university tho (mummy and daddy pay for her go to whichever uni she wants to). She loves it there.

Ha ha, sausage rolls are lovely! If you have a fresh one from a bakery, much better than i could ever make, they are sooooo nice! do you have pork pies there? they're a snack food, dark pastry on the outside, crumbly. Have gelatine inside the pastry then solidified pork. very yum! although i had food poisoning from some a few months ago and havent touched them since! they are very very nice tho

Bakeries here don't sell sausage rolls, at least any that I have been to. I think the home made rolls are very good and I bet yours are wonderful. I've never seen pork pies here, they sound delish and I remember your case of food poisining from those!
The honey garlic shrimp are great. I had a whole bunch of Marines at my other apartement awhile back for a barbecue and they bought tons of prawns. I was grilling for hours! They really enjoyed it.I was sort of like Mom to a bunch of them for awhile but they have all shipped out or gone home now.

ooh men in uniform Very Happy

pork pies are yummy. if i get to visit your cafe when its open ill bring some over (on ice packs of course - dont want you feeling like i did for 3 days!). think they're more of a northern English thing - like the brown sauce. pork pies do go well with brown sauce too! Had to educate Darren on that and he loved it!
