This happened to me once, and luckily I have very fast reflexes. I did get burned slightly but not on my face.
When heating a cup of water for tea or coffee in the microwave, take care when removing it. Always stand back from the cup and slip a spoon into the liquid. The contents of the cup can often have energy built up in the center that can explode upwards out of the cup and scald you. Slipping a spoon in breaks the surface tension and disperses the energy. _________________ A closed mouth gathers no feet. |
