| Sometimes Keri will eat everything in sight, and sometimes she can be really irritating and be really super picky about what she eats. She has a thing about fish fingers, and when she goes through her picky phases, she will refuse to eat anything but fish finger sandwiches. I've tried absolutely everything, i've tried putting her dinner in front of her and not letting her down until it's gone - 2 hours later she's still there and still hasn't touched it, i've tried bargaining with her - saying if she eats part of it she can get down. That works but i need her to eat it all, not just a bit of it. She will go the whole weekend and only eat breakfast in the morning, and then nothing until she has her lunch at the child minder's. She's skin and bones any way, without refusing to eat because she's stubborn!!! Has any one else had this problem? How did you combat it? I was never picky as a kid, if i didnt want it, i didnt eat. And i had and still have, that appetite of a horse! Theres no way i would have missed a meal! |

Paula I think every kid goes through these stages. Rest assured that no child ever starved to death from being picky. My trick with my daughter was she had a certain amount of time to eat her meal. I set a timer, usually 45 minutes. At the end of that time, I removed the dish. If Erica hadn't eaten a good portion of her dinner there was no dessert or snacks later. I found that preparing her favorite desserts and making sure she knew what was available if she ate well, did the trick. In the states we have a nutritional drink called Pediasure. Calories and vitamins etc. I would make sure she had a multi vitamin every morning and just be patient. This will pass. _________________ A closed mouth gathers no feet. |

| we have drinks like that too, but they're usually milk shakes, and keri doesn't like milkshake. i'll try the idea of making a dessert with her that she likes and saying she can have that if she eats her dinner all up. It's frustrating! Today she ate so much food i was amazed, she ate her breakfast cereal, yoghurt and then fruit. then we went to my dads and she ate a few biscuits and a bag of crisps. then we had lunch at a cafe (not healthy i know) and she had a plate of chips, then a sunday roast at my dads and some pringles! she then asked for grapes and raisens at home!!! All i've eaten today is the sunday dinner, i didnt have much and im still full! i weighed her today, and she only weighs 2 stone. she's a bag of bones!!!! |

Vitamin B12.
I got very sick when I was a kid (gastro-enteritis) and I could not eat anything for quite a while.
I've grown with B12 LOL.... _________________ In vino veritas! |

Yes Guido almost died when he was a child! Check the natural food stores and see if they have chewable B12 for kids, or crush the tablet and put it in some juice. _________________ A closed mouth gathers no feet. |

I remember it was liquid and incredibly sweet.
Put it in some sparkling water and it will taste like a soda.
No meds taste at all. _________________ In vino veritas! |
