I can't open my coconut, please help!!!
I managed to get the milk out - i pierced the softest eye with a skewer like the instructions said, but it said "crack open to expose the flesh". Crack with what??? I tried a rolling pin, a bread knife, i tried dropping it on the floor (missed and hit my toe - ouch!!). It won't open |

1) Brute force method
remove milk as you did, then grab an hammer and hit the coconut
in the other side you drilled to remove the milk (about 1/3 of its lenght)
2) Tech method
Remove ALL the milk.
Preheat oven at 200 / 220°C (400°F)
For no reason use a microwave: we want the outside hot, but the pulp gonna stay cold or just lukewarm.
Bake coconut for 10/15 minutes.
The wood will break and the pulp will be perfectly separed.
Wash pulp under cold water.
3) Mad method.
Throw the coconut to your boss, or your worst co-worker.
You know they are hard headed and the coconut will break with no injuries for humans! _________________ In vino veritas! |

Hahahahaha Guido. Your right about the tech method. It is ok for the meat to get warm as that makes it sweeter. Place the heated coconut on a hard surface and smack it with a hammer. It should crack open. _________________ Life's short...eat dessert first. |
