Tomorrow is July 1st and I don't have my July 4th menus posted....again
I am back to work after five long years on disability, and went from 0 to 60 in nothing flat. So my attention to Yummyfood has been sporadic at best. That and the current pc problem I am having that when I talk to Guido on MSN and have Yummyfood open, the audio breaks up. We sound like we are talking in code!
Anyway, we do have a lot of great recipes posted for previous July 4th celebrations and I hope you will take a look at them.
I will be working one shift on the 4th so I will put a rack of Apple Smoked Ribs on the smoker before I leave for work. Macaroni Salad and Coleslaw prepared the day before will round out the meal. The essential American dessert is a must have for the 4th at my house, so a big, juicy, homemade Apple Pie with vanilla ice cream will end the meal. After that, if we can move, off to the beach to watch fireworks.
Guido and I wish you all a safe and happy 4th of July. _________________ A closed mouth gathers no feet. |

Happy 4th of July from Merry Old England!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sorry, as we don't celebrate American Independence Day, Thanksgiving, Memorial Day, Flag Day (oops, can't think of any more - oh yeah, Elvis Presley Day, is that one??) etc, I forget about them easily! Sorry
Hope you all have great bbqs - unlike us Brits who are currently drowning in flood waters (literally!).
Until just now when i was looking up Independence Day, I really didn't know what it was for. Then while i waited for the site to load i went to the loo and was interrupted by the fact that my speakers are WAY too loud with the American National Anthem blasting from my computer!!!!!!!!
I didnt realise that Independence Day was a celebration of American's being Independent of England and choosing to sign a declaration rather than going to war!!!!!!! ( I was going to make a cheeky comment about America having a president who actually preferred NOT to go to war!! - but decided that was too cheeky! )
Anyway, have a great holiday, and i will be sat here listening to the rain pour down whilst you are all out celebrating with your families and having a fantastic time!!!!
Happy 4th of July for Wednesday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

Paula, a lot of American's don't know what the 4th stands for!
They think it's just the day for fireworks, cold beer and lots of BBQ.
I can only imagine what kind of cheeky you had in mind!
Do I need to send some umbrella's? An inflatable boat? _________________ A closed mouth gathers no feet. |

an inflatable boat would be good! Most of England is a few feet under water at the moment! The rain has actually stopped for a few hours here at the moment, but where my dad lives, people have been evacuated. The water is so high that when my dad drives the bus down the roads, the water comes in to the bus, up the steps and right to his drivers cab!!!
Im glad Milton Keynes is on a hill! |

We are short in water too.
This morning there is no water coming from the well to water the garden, and watering plants from the faucet is forbidden. _________________ In vino veritas! |

I've been on a training course in Birmingham for the past couple of days, and today on the way home i got stuck in a flood! The water came all the way over the tyres of my poor little car |
