Here really good beef cattle are "finished" on corn and grain.
Yes some of the feeding practices are questionable, but that has stopped here since the mad cow thing.

Cheaply priced beef doesn't mean a lesser grade usually. Here we have different grades of meat. Grade A Prime is the top. I bought a rib roast for Christmas dinner and while it was good, it didn't have that wonderful prime rib flavor.Grade A Prime is always more expensive. Lesser grades are cheaper as you go down the scale.

Letting cattle graze is the best way to raise them for sure.

if the cow looks like this:

then you can fire up the BBQ.

But if your cow looks like this:

I would go buy fish and chips.......
