All my life I have looked at things and wondered what else I could use it for besides it's original use.

The mesh bags that potatoes and some fruits come in make great storage for flower bulbs. Loosely filled with dryer lint and hung in bushes, the birds will use it in their nests. If you are growing mini pumpkins on a hanging vine, the bags are great to slip over the little pumpkins to tie them to supports.

The plastic vegetable and meat tubs that Fresh & Easy use make great sprouting tubs and the larger deep meat trays can be used to hold the water from the plant tubs. My daughter uses the smaller tubs for her craft supplies.
The cold cuts at Fresh & Easy come in a food storage container like the type that can be bought for that purpose.
After you have used up your containers, take them back to Fresh & Easy to be recycled.

It's little things like this we can all do to reduce waste and damage to our planet.

The schools here often ask for empty containers such as washing up liquid bottles, shoe boxes, washing powder boxes etc so that they can be used in the kids craft days. I remember my dad cutting up old cola bottles and using the base for planting seeds in before they were transferred to the garden. He used the top turned upside down as a funnell, I can't remember what for though! Also, I used empty drinks bottles the size of a 2litre cola bottle when we went camping last year. I filled them with water and froze them before we set off. I then added one to each cool bag with an ice pack as well to keep my milk, butter and bbq food cold. The bbq food stayed frozen for 2 days! Because the bottles are so big, they take longer to defrost than ice packs, so can keep the food colder a lot longer - ideal if you are travelling any distance, or, as we were, camping for a few nights.

Empty margarine tubs with their lids can be used to store kids crayons or small craft items. Plastic bread bags can be used to store sandwiches in on a long trip or rather than using cling film when you take lunch to work (another of my dad's ideas from when we were kids). Wine bottles can be re-used for storing home made flavoured oils in, or as a make shift candle holder when you forget to pay the electric bill - so often as a university student this happened!!!!

Pretty much anything can be re-used, you just have to use your imagination.
