I don't have a dishwasher in my studio apartement, but I keep a box of dishwasher detergent on hand. Have a vase that has a yucky buildup? Fill it with hot water and add a teaspoon of the dishwasher powder, stir to dissolve. The vase trick works on thermos bottles that have a coffee or tea buildup too. I love iced tea but no matter how well I wash my glasses, they get a buildup of tea oils. Once a week I soak them in hot water with the dishwasher detergent and they sparkle after. I use this method to soak my hummingbird feeder. It occasionally gets mold spots inside and I can't get a bottle cleaner into the opening. The dishwasher powder is made to remove stubborn foods and the mold will bubble off.Just be sure to rinse the feeder really well to remove and residue. _________________ Life's short...eat dessert first. |
