|
|
Hi Everyone
My daughter and I are moving house next weekend to a place with white goods included in the cost of the rent. As a result, I am having to sell (amongst other things) my fridge and freezer. Does anyone have any menu ideas for evening meals and packed lunches that do not include chilled items? I don't want to be eating beans on toast all week (everything has to be turned off and defrosted on Sunday) and my daughter will not appreciate crackers every day for her lunch!! lol _________________ Rain rain go away, come again another day |

Paula, do you have a ice chest, you know the one's you use for camping?
Peanut butter and jelly works for me for a sandwich.
Potted meat, sliced cheeses and veggie sticks and fruit might work for dinners. Wrap food in cling wrap, then a layer of damp newspaper and then several layers of dry newspaper, firmly tied / taped etc. That will keep meats and cheeses one day. _________________ Life's short...eat dessert first. |

Thanks. Keri's packed lunch today consisted of chocolate spread sandwiches, an apple, dried strawberries in a yogurt coating, crisps and a drink. I have an entire jar of potted meat spread in a sandwich because of nowhere to store the rest of the jar!! With fruit and a bag of crisps. I did however manage to find some pretty yummy looking Heinz pots of microwavable chicken / beef stew with dumplings that doesn't need to be kept in a fridge. They were on the soup aisle in Tesco, so tonight we will be trying those... _________________ Rain rain go away, come again another day |

I didn't think to ask if your microwave was available. Those shelf stable foods are pretty neat. WE have a wide variety of them here. _________________ Life's short...eat dessert first. |
