The Vernaccia di San Gimignano DOCG is produced with omonime the grapes, in a small area where the vineyards are optimally exposed in sunlight, and the land is mostly composed of yellow sands and clay.
Straw yellow color with golden glares, the Vernaccia di San Gimignano is a very structured wine and with a meaningful alcoholic degree (12% vol.).
It has a penetrating aroma, with initially floral sensation (flowers of acacia and chestnut tree) and a fresh, soft taste and with an pleasant backtaste of bitter almond.
Vernaccia di San Gimignano must be served cool (10°C) and it splendidly match with Tuscan specialties (small cuttlefishes in zimino, triglie alla livornese and the mythical cacciucco, the fish soup of Livorno).
But it's great also with salami, sausages, roasted poultry and prosciutto.
