A superb wine from italian region Pedemont, Brachetto d'Acqui is very appreciated also in the USA, but it's very rare, beacuse its limited production.
The origin of Brachetto is rather controversial: the most reliable indicates it originated of hills of Asti and the Monferrato, although Demaria and Leardi , in the “Ampelografia of the province of Alexandria” (1875), support that the perfumed and aromatic Brachetto, would be original of Marine Nizza.

The currently zone of production is rather small, Alessandria and Asti province but the small quantity is well compensate by the high quality of this wonderfull sparlinkg red wine.

Medium intensity ruby color, light smell of musk and rose, sweet, soft taste, with a medium persistent froth, this wine is perfect with any kind of desserts and is simply fanstastic with strawberries and fruit tarts.

Serve chilled 8° - 12°C (46° - 53°F)
If chilling in the fridge be sure it does not overchill, or all the flavours and aromas will be lost.

Store in a dark cool place no more than 2 years.

Prosit!
Guido

Paula,
Most of the red wines get better with age.
This is a sparkling red wine, and it doesnt like aging.
It would loose it's bubbles, freshness and aromas.
Thats' why it's better to do not store for long.
Lambrusco, another red sparkling wine from Emilia region, is the same.
better withtn 2 years.
Ciao
Guido
