Those of you foodies, ex-foodies and curious to know more about the behind the scenes restaurant stuff, should read the book "Kitchen Confidential" by Anthony Bourdain. He has worked everywhere and seen almost everything. The book is great and very discriptive. Anthony now has a new program on American Cable Television on the Travel Channel, called, "Anthony Bourdain, No Reservations". Great show where he travels to Paris, New Jersey, Vietnam and many others. So check it out.

While i was in the States this summer.. that was one of my fav programs on TV, beside the SciFi channel LOL.
He sure is a brave regarding food... i'd never eat some of the crap he gets during his adventure trips.
But we are different: at the beginning of the show he's used to say, i'm not a tourist, i'm a traveler...
Everyone knows i'm a fooking tourist...

Guido,
Have you ever seen "Unwrapped"? That's another good American cable show. It's on The Food Network, and the host features different eateries and food processing establishments.
And btw, I wish I had your time and money to be a "fooking tourist", all I have time to tour is the back roads on my way home from work. LOL
Best Regards to You and Kate,
Pfin |

Great posts Brian, thanks. I love both those shows and never miss No Reservations. I agree with Guido though...that guy is brave with some of the things he eats. I read his second book, can't remember the name lol, but it was great. _________________ A closed mouth gathers no feet. |
