NEW YORK, November 25 /PRNewswire/ -- THIS IS A MULTIVU REPORT.
EXPERTS SAY HOLIDAY TEMPTATIONS-FROM COOKIES TO COCKTAILS-HAVE MANY AMERICANS GAINING UP TO FIVE POUNDS FROM THANKSGIVING TO NEW YEAR'S. STUDIES SHOW MANY OF US NEVER LOSE THAT EXTRA WEIGHT.
FROM OFFICE PARTIES TO FAMILY DINNERS, THE HOLIDAYS ARE LOADED WITH TEMPTATION. SO HOW CAN YOU BEAT THE BATTLE OF THE HOLIDAY BULGE?
BEFORE YOU GO TO A HOLIDAY GATHERING, SNACK ON FRUIT OR NON-FAT YOGURT AND A GLASS OF SKIM MILK-THAT WAY YOU WON'T OVERDO IT AT THE PARTY. ADDITIONALLY, ALWAYS REMEMBER TO DRINK IN MODERATION...PREMIUM DRINKS MAKER DIAGEO HAS SOME HOLIDAY TIPS:
Carolyn Panzer, Senior V-P, Public Policy, Diageo
"Know what you are drinking-drink responsibly. Know standard servings of beer wine and sprits all have exactly the same amount of alcohol. And know too, alcohol has calories. If you are watching your carbs--distilled sprits however don't have any carbohydrates."
STUDIES ALSO SHOW THOSE WHO MAINTAINED-AND EVEN INCREASED--THEIR EXERCISE ROUTINE ENJOYED THE HOLIDAYS WITHOUT GAINING WEIGHT. _________________ Life's short...eat dessert first. |

but holiday food tastes sooo good! its the only time of year you can eat guilt free cakes, cookies and roast meat because you're supposed to at christmas! in england we dont have thanksgiving and we dont really celebrate easter except for easter eggs that kids get so christmas is really the only holiday that we celebrate by eating loads. you're meant to stuff yourself at christmas and you have a whole year to burn a couple of measly extra pounds off! |

Ah yes, true we do have more feasting holidays in the states. No sooner have we eaten the last of the Thanksgiving turkey when it's time for all the goodies and parties for Christmas. _________________ Life's short...eat dessert first. |
