The Further Adventures Of Kate In Italy

This year my Italy trip was delayed from March because Guido's brother Fabio is getting married in May! Were still trying to book a ticket that doesn't cost both legs and an arm...can you hitch hike to Italy? I'm very excited as it has been almost seven months since I have seen him.
The packing has begun, and the preperations and planning. Life is a bit of a whirlwind right now as my daughter is in the process of moving to Southern Calif to be with me.
Guido is taking me to Venice while I am there! We will stay at an old hotel in Trevisio, about 15 miles from Venice. I can't believe I will finally get to see the grand canals and all the splendors that are Venice. Guido's vowed to keep me away from the Venetian glass shops! I never in my life imagined I would get to see any of Europe before meeting Guido, and now looking forward to my third trip over. Life is good! Thank you sweety!

Well I finally have my ticket, thanks to Guido. He really made my day when he told me that we will drive home from Venice through the Tuscan valley! I can hardly wait to see more of Italy. I hope to see the fields of sunflowers (ok I love the movie Under The Tuscan Sun!)
I'm really starting to get excited now that the time is getting closer. Italy never ceases to amaze and delight me with the wonderful sights, sounds and smells, and of course thats where my Guido is!. The rich and ancient culture and traditions....and of course...the food! I'm like a kid in a candy store there.

Haha you guys. Well I can't row because of my shoulder, and Guido's right, gas there is nuts...and we complain about the price here! So I will just take the plane. And BD...Pompei is for another trip lol.

Well it's less than a month now till I leave, by the time I get there it will be 8 1/2 months since I've seen my honey....so I'm very excited. One thing I always find myself doing is standing in the garden at Guido's, or anywhere we might be, and thinking to myself "I'm actually in Italy"! Ok I know that sounds silly, but I never thought I would ever get to go to europe once, much less three times!
I have begun the packing ritual that has become so familiar, making lists and revamping my wardrobe. I must admit I am bad about shopping and don't buy clothes until I absolutely have to.But once I get started lookout! Thank heavens I inherited my Mom's bargain shopper gene! I have bought a supply of chili powder and hot sauces to take over with me. Papa wants me to make chili so he can compare his to mine. The problem is I use ingredients that he can't get there. But it will be fun never the less.
I have a few other dishes I want to share with Papa, he says since I will be staying there I get to cook for a change haha. I have to fight to help do the dishes usually! I'm not used to being treated as a guest so I guess I have moved up my ranks on the family ladder. Mama will be chasing me around with a blow drier and coats, socks, etc and tell me I'm crazy. I don't care, it's all good.
