While nourishing our bodies on the inside, many foods can make us beautiful on the outside as well. Slices of cold cucumber placed on the eyes can reduce puffiness. Mashed avocado, ground up oatmeal and honey make an excellent facial mask. Honey and oatmeal are both humicants that draw moisture into the foods they are put in, as well as on your skin.Too much sun? Make a paste of oatmeal, water and honey and spread it on the burned area.

Avocado Oatmeal Mask
1/4 cup oatmeal ground in a food processor or blender
3 Tbsps honey
1/2 of a ripe avocado

Mash avocado in a bowl, add honey and oatmeal amd mix well. Spread over face and leave for 45 minutes. I do this in combination with cucumber slices on my eyes and take a nap.

For dry hair. Heat 1/4 cup (more or less depending on hair length) olive oil until quite warm. Massage into damp hair.Wrap in a warm moist towel and leave for 30 to 45 minutes. Shampoo and style as usual.

Mayonnaise also works well for dry hair. Wet hair and towel dry.Apply mayonnaise from roots to tip.Wrap in a warm moist towel and leave for 30 minutes.Shampoo and style as usual.

Fresh lemon juice mixed with water makes a great hair rinse, helps get the green tinge out of blond hair from clorine pools, and makes hair bright and shiny.

Paula, shampoo your hair twice with your normal shampoo after the olive oil treatement and then use a rinse of 1 part lemon juice or apple cider vinegar to 3 parts water. That will help remove more of the oil and still leave your hair soft and shiny.
