Little touches can do a lot to dress up plain food. I had guests for dinner one night and during the meal I realized I had totally forgotten about dessert!. I remembered I had a pan of purchased brownies in the fridge and some vanilla ice cream. I melted some seedless raspberry jam with a tiny bit of white wine and poured it into a squeeze bottle. I made a zig zag pattern on the dessert plates with the jam coulis. I cut the brownies in a diamond pattern and placed them on the plates and placed a small scoop of the vanilla ice cream at a slight angle at one tip of each brownie. I added more coulis in another zig zag pattern, going the opposite direction and served them. My guests were delighed with my "fancy" dessert. _________________ Life's short...eat dessert first. |
