Camping again

Hi all

Keri and I are off on our travels again this year with my little brother Josh. We're going camping in Wales for a week, and then Keri and I are going to Norfolk with my foster sister and her son for a week a day after returning from Wales. If anyone has any camping recipes that kids would enjoy, or tips to keep them occupied, it would be greatly appreciated. We're going to a place this year that allow individual camp fires - very rare in the UK - so im really excited and definitely plan to make S'mores. Wales is traditionally cold and rainy, and last year when we went to Powys (same town as this year just different site), the first night was 4 degrees C!! I went equipped for weather as it was at home in the city and so the morning after our first night, Keri and I were camped outside a charity shop waiting for it to open so we could buy some warm clothes for the week! This year the hot water bottle is top of my check list Very Happy

As well as the camp fire, we're going to take a few disposable bbqs and our camp stoves, so we have a few different methods of cooking, it will just be storage of cold items like meat etc that will be difficult.

We plan to do a lot of walking, so also any recipes that can be packed easily into a back pack would be good.

When I went on a camp with couple of my mates we cooked potatoes. Even though we didn't need to because they ended up uncooked and crunchy. Yum chips. Damper is good. Stick em on sticks and the kids can burn them as much as they want, yay. If you have Vegemite over there in the Arctic try it, unless you hate salty stuff.

well we're off camping tomorrow. I have recently learnt how to gut and fillet a fish, so fishing for dinner will definitely be on our list of activities!! I've just checked the weather for Cardiff, Wales and the next 5 days are predicting rain!! Such fun Very Happy
