A couple of weeks ago I brought some bananas from the supermarket, and because I brought them on a Saturday, I made sure they were really green so that they'd last us the week. They have been sat in the kitchen since then and they are still green! They're rock solid because they're still under ripe. It's really weird, I've never known Bananas take so long to ripen up before. Could there be something wrong with them - I know this is a very weird question!! The only thing I did differently to normal was I brought them from Morrissons (another big chain) rather than Tesco where everything ended up being way more expensive than usual!!

I'm lost on this!
Maybe because it's colder than usual?

Paula, place the bananas in a paper bag so that the ethylene gas is trapped and the bananas will ripen faster.

Thanks Kate Smile weirdly, Saturday morning they were still green, we went out and by Saturday evening when we got home, they had gone really yellow and had big bruises on them! I've never seen that happen before.

The bananas most likely were picked super green and held in cold storage.
I would take them back to the store and get a refund. That has happened to me in the past.

And Paula....it's bought, put a note on your pc....rofl.
