Introduction
Kaleecha is a Kuwaiti dish made popular by the inhabitants of the Kuwaiti island, Failaka (Icarus). Mostly prepared during the Holy month of Ramadhan, this sweet snack is just yummy!
Ingredients
1/4 cup all_purpose_flour
1 tbsp granulated_sugar
1 tbsp active_dry_yeast
1/4 cup water
1 tbsp vegetable_oil
1 egg
Dash of vanilla_extract
Sesame_seeds , cardamom powder, and saffron for topping
(you can soak a couple of saffron threads in water and  use the water as a wash if you don't want a strong taste)
Directions
Step: 1Preheat oven to 350 F.

Mix the sugar and the yeast in warm water and set aside till the yeast activates and becomes bubbly.
In a separate bowl, mix a dash of salt with the flour and then sift it into another bowl.
Add the oil to the flour and mix well
Add the yeast mixture to the flour and mix until the wet and dry ingredients are completely blended. Set aside for at least 1/2 an hour.
Form the dough into about 15 balls and flatten them to create discs
Place the discs on a buttered cookie sheet.
Step: 2Whisk the egg (or just the white) with a drop of vanilla.
Add the cardamom powder and mix well.
Using a pastry brush, brush the faces of the discs with the egg mixture and
sprinkle with sesame seeds and saffron threads.
Bake until golden brown and enjoy the Kaleecha :-D
