Introduction
This very neat and tasty recipe has been a favorite of mine since I had it at a neighborhood party almost 30 years ago.  It's incredibly versitile because anyone can put their own "spin" on it!  I've never heard anything but oohs and ahhs when I serve it at my Christmas Parties-possibly because it's so "pretty" and festive once the roll is sliced into individual servings-the green & red of the fillings always pleases!  For the kids, it's a nutritious and not-too-filling alternative to sweet after-school snacks or cereal-so they'll not loose their appetite for dinner.  Have FUN with it!!
Ingredients

One frozen or homemade Pizza Dough -  (I use Betty Crocker's Pizza Dough Recipe)  SEE STEP ONE:

   I like:

Prego Traditional Spaghetti Sauce (3/4 Cup; or more, if needed)

Hormel Pepperoni-6 oz. pkg.

Sargento Mozzarella Cheese; shredded, 12 oz. pkg.

Fresh green Bell or Jalepeno peppers sliced into

 long strips

2 4oz. cans of mushrooms (stems and pieces) well-drained on paper toweling

Oregeno or any Italian seasoning, black pepper , and Baco's bacon bits to taste

Directions
Step: 1

Betty Crocker Recipe for Pizza Dough: 2 1/2 Cups all-purpose flour, 1  pkg. dry yeast activated in 1 cup very warm water, sugar, olive oil and salt.

While yeast is activating in the water, add 1 Tablespoon white sugar and  1   teaspoon salt to flour mixture. Add 1 tablespoon olive oil to yeast and water mixture, stir a moment then pour onto flour.

Stir with fork until dough holds together - add small amounts of flour, if necessary, to make a fairly firm dough.

Roll into a rectangle (9"x14") on a liberally-floured surface.

Step: 2

Arrange filling ingredients in this order on top of dough rectangle:

Pepperoni

Pepper slices

1/2 of the Mozzarella Cheese

Spaghetti Sauce - , dabbing it around to mostly cover other ingredients, rather than spreading it all over

Mushrooms

other 1/2 of Mozzarella Cheese

Step: 3

Gently fold over long sides of dough about 1/2" in on either side, then gently roll and shape upwards until you close the roll.  Gently, with water or milk dampened fingertips, pinch the closing fold firmly shut.

Bake at 375o for 18 minutes, check for dough doneness, and if need be, continue to bake for 2 minute intervals until done.  It's done when the dough is evenly golden-brown all over.

Step: 4

A special thing I do for my Party Rolls, is about 4o 5 minutes before I think they'll be done, I brush the rolls with a mixture of beaten egg and a few droplets of  milk.  It gives them a gorgeous, shiny, "shellacked" look.

Menu suggestion

Obviously great as an appetizer, but sometimes I will just whip one up for our "movie night" in together!

If one were to make it for dinner, I'd suggest a wonderful, cool salad with a few types of lettuce and a light Italian dressing.  We like a lime or raspberry sorbet for desssert! (You can substitute browned Hamburger or Ham slices for the pepperoni, too!

Go ahead and experiment with your own fillings!  . . . .

Just keep the order you put them on the dough similar to to Step 2.
