Introduction
My daughter and I  love apple pie and this one is our favorite. To make this super fast, use a frozen 9 inch deep dish pie shell.
I'll post picts after Thanksgiving, this pie is on the menu!. For now , this is a picture of what it should look like.
Ingredients
Filling
5 to 6  large apples, I like to mix them up, gala, pink lady, granny smith
1/2 to 3/4 cups granulated_sugar ( adjust sugar according to how sweet/tart your apples are)
1/4 tsp freshly grated nutmeg
1/2 tsp ground_cinnamon
Pinch of sea_salt
1 tsp flour
1 tsp vanilla_extract
1 Tbsp melted butter
Directions
Step: 1
Pre heat oven to 325 F
Prepare1 9inch pie shell, unbaked ( use store bought or your favorite single crust recipe, my butter and lard crust works well).
Step: 2For the crumb topping:

In  the bowl of a food processor fitted with the steel blade, combine flour, brown sugar and salt. Pulse a
few times to combine well. Scatter the butter pieces over the flour mixture and run the processor on high
speed in short bursts until the mixture resembles fine crumbles. The mixture should not hold together like
a dough.
Keep topping cold while preparing the filling.
Step: 3For the filling:
Combine sugar, salt, spices and flour in a bowl. In a large mixing bowl, combine apples, melted butter,
vanilla_extract and sea_salt. Toss or mix with your hands to completely mix the apple mixture.
Place apples into crust line pie pan.
Evenly spread crumb topping over the apples, making sure it spreads to the edges.
Step: 4Place the pie on a foil lined cookie sheet, foil shiny side down. Bake on the center rack of the oven for about one hour, or until the top is golden brown.
