Introduction
My friend Peggy Thompson sent me this recipe in an email. This can serve two if your feeling generous. A couple of scoops of ice cream will round out each half. A drizzle of chocolate sauce couldn't hurt either.
And why is this the most dangerous cake recipe in the world?
Because now we are all only 5 minutes away from chocolate cake at any time of the day or night!........

Note from Kate: My first test on this recipe, the cake was a bit bland and slightly  tough. I only had jumbo eggs and that is what I used. I made a note of this in the recipe and added some salt. The next cake was really much better.  For the second test I mixed the batter in a cereal bowl and poured it into the mug. This is best served warm.
Ingredients
4 tablespoons all_purpose_flour
4 tablespoons granulated_sugar
2 tablespoons cocoa_powder
1 small to medium egg
3 tablespoons milk
3 tablespoons vegetable_oil
1/8 tsp salt
3 tablespoons chocolate_chips (optional)
A small splash of vanilla_extract
1 large coffee mug (Microwave Safe)
Directions
Step: 1Add dry ingredients to mug, and mix well.  Add the egg and mix thoroughly.
Pour in the milk and oil and mix well..
Add the chocolate chips (if using) and vanilla extract, and mix again.
Put your mug in the microwave and cook for 3 minutes at 1000 watts.(I think my microwave is 700 watts so I cooked mine for 4 minutes)
The cake will rise over the top of the mug, but don't be alarmed!
Allow to cool a little, and tip out onto a plate if desired.

So, maybe not the best chocolate cake I've ever had but WOW for the 5 minutes it took me I'm nothing if not delightfully surprised. (okay, it took me about 10 minutes, I'm a little methodical)

Anywho, despite there being no salt in the house and no chocolate chips, Bethany and I are 100% satisfied and looking forward to the next one. (in another 10 minutes... maybe)

Give it a try! You won't be disappointed, especially if you consider all the other things in your day that took 5+ minutes and didn't produce chocolate cake
