Introduction
These are delicious and make a great appetizer or a nice addition to a holiday buffet. The use of canned crab makes them easy to prepare any time of year but I like to use fresh crab when it's in season.
Ingredients

Ingredients
12 to 14 button or crimini_mushrooms (medium size)
1 Tablespoon of butter
1 clove of garlic , minced
2 shallots , minced
1 1/2 cups of fresh crabmeat or 6 oz cans crab , drained
One 5-ounce can of water_chestnuts , drained and chopped
1/4 cup of mayonnaise
2 Tablespoons of chopped parsley
1/2 cup grated parmesan
4 slices of dry white bread made into fine crumbs
Salt and freshly ground black_pepper to taste

Directions
Step: 1Melt the butter in a frying pan and saute the chopped garlic and shallots just until softened. Add the flaked crab meat and bread crumbs. Mix well.Remove from the heat and add water chestnuts, mayonnaise and salt and pepper. Mix with a wooden spoon until the mixture sticks together. Quickly wash the mushrooms and pat dry. Remove the stems. Fill the mushrooms with the crab mixture and smooth the top. Put mushrooms on a baking tray (does not need to be greased) and bake at 350 degrees for about 25 minutes or until mushroom caps start to brown.
