Introduction

On these cold winter mornings, a hot nourishing breakfast is more important than ever.If you've never tried Irish oatmeal your missing out on something special. The time it takes to cook this type of oatmeal usually deters most people but I came up with a way to have it ready and waiting when you wake up.

Ingredients

1 cup Irish oatmeal (the whole grain type, I like McCann's)
3 1/2 cups cold water
1 tsp sea_salt
1/2 cup raisins (optional)
1/4 cup wheat bran (optional but delicious)

Directions
Step: 1In your slow cooker the night before (at least 6 hours) place oatmeal, water and salt. Set temp on low, cover and forget it. When you wake up give it a stir and dish it up.If it's too thick, add a little hot water or warm milk or cream.
