It was originally made with asparagus, but I swithced to broccoli and it has always been a hit! This recipe is so easy. There is no exact science to it, just mix to taste. | | Ingredients | | 1 lb broccoli , cleaned and chopped 1 or 2 regular sized cans of cream of mushroom soup 2 cans peas 1/2 - 1 cup grated cheese (cheddar, sharp, any yellow shreddable cheese) 2 to 4 slices of bread, cut into bite sized squares | | Directions | | Step: 1 | Preheat oven to 375 degrees
Steam broccoli until just tender.Gently mix peas, cream of mushroom soup and 1/2 of the cheese (keep rest of cheese for later)gently mix in steamed broccoli.Pour into baking dish and top with remaining cheese and spread bite sized squares of bread on top. Bake for approximately 20 minutes or until bread is brown and cheese is melted (you can cover the baking dish, but it is not necessary. |
