Introduction

My Mom never bought pancake syrup, she made her own. It's really easy and much less expensive than the commercial syrups and I think it taste much better.Mapeline is available in most supermarkets in the spice aisle.A bottle of Mapeline will make a lot of syrup!

Note: Mapeline is a concentrated imitation maple flavoring.

Ingredients

1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup white corn syrup (Karo)
2 tsps Mapeline or to taste

Directions
Step: 1

In a sauce pan bring the water to a boil. Add the sugar and stir until dissolved.Add the corn syrup and boil for about 5 minutes. Remove from the heat and add the Mapeline. Syrup will thicken up as it cools. Pour into a glass bottle with a cap or stopper. For variety, use brown sugar instead of white sugar for a deeper flavor.
