In the south people drink it winter and summer and it's available in most restaurants. When I have company and I'm serving sweet tea, I like to freeze a lemon slice in a little water in the bottom of pint canning jars. When ready to serve, fill with ice cold sweet tea, add a sprig of mint and serve. | | Ingredients | | 3 to 4 family sized tea bags (Luzianne is my favorite) 1 quart water (perferably filtered water) 1 1/2 cups granulated_sugar or to taste Ice
Lemon wedges and mint sprigs if desired
| | Directions | | Step: 1 | Bring 3 cups of the water to a boil in a saucepan with a lid. When boiling, add tea bags. Remove from heat and cover. Allow to sit for at least 10 to15 minutes. Remove tea bags and add sugar, stirring to dissolve.Pour into a gallon pitcher with remaining water. Fill a large pitcher with ice (3-4 trays) and pour warm tea over. |
