Time | 10 min | | Cook Time | 1hour 15 minutes | | Introduction | | This is a typical dish form Napoli, Traditionally served for Easter, it is similiar to the more famous (and much more elaborate) Pastiera Napoletana. | | Ingredients | | 1//2 lb corn_meal 2 oz butter 4 oz granulated_sugar Zest of one lemon 4 oz raisins 2 oz pine_nuts 6 oz assorted candied fruit bits 1 pinch of cinnamon 1 pinch of salt 4 oz confectioners_sugar | | Directions | | Step: 1 | Bring to a boil 11/2 quart of water, with granulated sugar, butter, salt ,cinnamon and the lemon zest. Sift in the corn meal, and stirring from time to time, cook on low heat until water is completely absorbed, about one hour. | | Step: 2 | Add pinenuts, raisins, and candied fruit and mix well. Pour the batter into a greased baking pan and bake at 350°F until surface is golden (15. min) Let it cool and sprinkle with confectiones sugar. |
