Carote al Marsala (Marsala Carrots)

Introduction
I just love this sidedish. It's easy, savory, and it's a perfect match with fried chicken or a veal lemon piccata.
Try it and I'm sure you will forever  have a botttle of marsala handy...
Ingredients
1/2 stick butter
1 pound carrots peeled and cut into 1/4" rounds
1 small shallot  minced
1/2 Tbs granulated_sugar
Sea_salt to taste
White pepper
1/4 cup dry marsala wine.
Directions
Step: 1In a large frying pan,  melt the butter over low heat.
Add shallot and saute for few minutes.
Add carrots, season with salt and pepper, cover and cook over low heat for about 20 minutes, untill carrots are very tender.
Check from time to time if the carrots are too dry and eventually add a little water.
Step: 2Dissolve sugar in the marsala,  pour over the carrots  and cook uncovered  for about 3 minutes until it evaporates.
Serve warm.
