Introduction

Flapjacks are yummy! They can be made with or without chocolate, and taste just as good.
Kate's Note: here in the States, flapjacks reffers to a type of pancake. When reading this recipe I was mystified as to the cook time. Sounds delicious no matter what there called!

Ingredients

115g (1/4 cup) butter plus extra for greasing
60g (1/4 cup) caster sugar (confectioners sugar)
1 tbsp golden_syrup (corn_syrup)
350g ( 1 1/4 cup) rolled_oats
85g (3 oz) dark chocolate_chips
85g (3 oz) sultanas (raisins)

Directions
Step: 1Preheat the oven to 180 c. (350F) lightly grease a shallow 8 inch square cake tin.
Step: 2Place the butter, caster sugar and golden syrup in a saucepan and cook over a low heat, stirring constantly until the butter and sugar melt and the mixture is well combined.
Step: 3Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the rolled oats until they are well coated. Add the chocolate chips and the sultanas and mix well to combine everything.
Step: 4

Turn into the prepared tin and press down well.

Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes. Cool slightly then mark into fingers. when almost cold, cut into bars or squares and transfer to a wire rack to cool completely
