This is just the basic recipe, but you can put pretty much any fruit in with them, most commonly raisins and sultanas here. - Kate, this is the recipe for the flapjacks I sent you!
Kate's note: These are delicious, would make a great back packing treat. I ate them for breakfast! | | Ingredients | | 4 Cups Rolled_Oats 150g ( 3/4 cup) Butter or Margarine 75g ( 1/4 cup) Golden_Syrup or Corn_Syrup 75g (1/4 cup) granulated_sugar
| | Directions | | Step: 1 | Put the margarine, sugar and syrup in a saucepan and heat until it is all liquid.
Line a baking tin with greaseproof paper/parchment paper. | | Step: 2 | Mix the oats into the liquid. Place the mixture into the baking tin and press flat. | | Step: 3 | Bake at 175C/Gas Mark 4 -350Ffor 25-30 Minutes. Slice into 8 fingers (by cutting in half along the perpendicular bisector of the 2 sides and into quarters perpendicular to the first cut) before it sets but leave in place in the tin until cool and set. |
